COLBERT, Nancy V. (Verge) 71 of Pembroke and Barnstable passed away at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth after a long ,hard fought battle. The daughter of the late Robert and Katherine "Kay" (Sullivan) Verge, she was born in Quincy and raised in Pembroke and was a life long summer resident of Barnstable, Cape Cod. Nancy was very active with The Home for Little Wonders and other charities. Nancy was very adventurous and loved the outdoors. She enjoyed swimming, clamming, fishing and golf. Known as The original "Hockey Mom", also loved parasailing, snorkeling and especially boating on Cape Cod. Mrs. Colbert will be remembered by her devotion to her family, her sense of humor and never ending resilience. Loving wife of 50 years of James J. Colbert, Sr. Devoted mother of James J. Colbert, Jr. and his wife Beth of Albany, NY, and the late Patricia Colbert Donovan. Dear sister of Dr. Charles G. Verge of Newton, and the late R. Steven Verge. Cherished grandmother of Oscar Colbert of Albany NY. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St.,Rte 53, HANOVER, on Sunday from 1-5 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at St. Thecla Church 145 Washington St., Rte 53, in Pembroke.
