Kathleen M. Kay (Kelly) Smart of Weymouth, formerly of Hanover, passed away Feb. 23, 2012. She was 68. Kay was a hairdresser and receptionist in Weymouth and was an avid Red Sox fan with a special affinity for Mike Lowell. She also enjoyed spending time at her summer home in Marshfield. The essence of Kays life was her family. They were the foundation of all that was important to her and she treasured her time with them. She will be sadly missed. Beloved wife of 47 years to David L. Smart of Weymouth, she was the devoted mother of Karyn Smart of Hanson, Susan Smart of Pembroke and David J. Smart of Atlanta, Ga.; cherished grandmother of Sarah, Caileigh, Meaghan, Courtney and Connor; loving sister of Barbara Dwyer, Joseph Kelly and Ruth Thiessen, all of South Weymouth. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Sunday 2-6 p.m. in the McDonald Funeral Home South Weymouth, at 809 Main St. (Rte. 18 opposite South Shore Hospital). Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Monday prior to the funeral Mass in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth, at 11 a.m. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
