Mr. Peter Roland Roche, 69, beloved husband of Sandra J. (Clark) Roche, died Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Medford, he was the son of Nelson F. and Christine (Sargeant) Roche. He was raised in Weymouth and graduated from Weymouth High School. Mr. Roche had been employed for forty years as a quality control manager at the General Electric Companys Aircraft Engine Division in Lynn until the time of his retirement in 2002. He completed the apprentice program at General Electric in 1967 and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. A resident of Beverly for the past forty six years, Peter was an avid Nascar fan and automobile enthusiast. He enjoyed going to car shows as well as entering his own 1965 red Dune Buggy and his 2002 red Thunderbird. In addition to his wife, with whom he shared forty eight years of marriage, he is survived by two sons, Peter N. Roche and his wife, Priscilla of Danvers and Michael F. Roche and his wife, Sally of Sydney, Australia, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews and many close friends and wonderful neighbors. A funeral service will be held at the Campbell | Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly location) Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial in North Beverly Cemetery.
