George F Moody Jr., of Plymouth, passed away September 8, 2021 at the BID Plymouth after a long courageous battle with declining health. He was born in Boston, MA and grew up in Weymouth, MA. He was the son of the late Evelyn and George Moody and brother to the late Richard Moody. George was married to Sue Moody for 56 years. They were High School sweethearts. They both knew each other as the love of their life. He was Dad to Kristin Fonseca, Kurt Moody and David Moody. He was cherished by grandchildren Jake Moody, Zach Moody, Alex Moody, Shane Fonseca, Will Moody, and Eleanor Moody.



George served in the National Guard in the 1960s. George had a very successful career as a Chief Assessor for 8 years for the Town of Plymouth and 20 years for the Town of Brookline. He was well known and respected by his colleagues and a member of The Massachusetts Association of Assessing Officers.



George loved food and had a passion for cooking. He was known to collect cookbooks and enjoyed reading new recipes and trying out new dishes. He was also known among his friends and family to be a fantastic bartender and enjoyed mixing craft cocktails at social gatherings and holidays. George loved home improvement projects. He could always be found whistling in the cellar with a new creative DIY idea. Working on his home and gardens with his wife Sue was a favorite pastime.



Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, September 16th, at the Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home, 619 State Rd. (Manomet), from 12:00 pm till 3:00 pm. Followed by a service in the funeral home at 3:00 pm. Donations in George’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105, or to the Salvation Army, 52 Long Pond Rd. Plymouth MA 02360.

Dear Sue and family,  so sorry to hear of George's passing.  Hope you are doing well and think of the old days often.
