Paul T.Gokey III of Middleboro (formerly of Plymouth and Weymouth) died peacefully on May 18th at B.I.D. Medical Center Boston. He is the beloved husband of 58 years to Gail D. (Larsen) Gokey. Born in Quincy, Massachusetts on March 29, 1942, son of the late Paul T. Gokey Jr. and Virginia (Proverb) and stepson of the late George Melanson. Paul was a graduate of Weymouth High School and Northeastern University, receiving a degree in Engineering.



Following graduation, Paul spent much of his career working as a engineer at General Dynamics in Quincy, JJ Henry in Hingham, and finally the Parson’s Corporation until his retirement in 2005 as a computer systems manager.



Paul coached for Plymouth Youth Soccer for 10 years in the 1980s, enjoyed carpentry, spending quiet moments near the ocean, and sharing much of his time with his children and their families. Most of all, Paul cherished the life he created with his wife and best friend, Gail. Paul and Gail enjoyed traveling in their RV, wintering in Florida and South Carolina, while spending summers near the water at Scusset Beach.



Besides his loving wife Gail, Paul is survived by his daughter Kimberly Souza and her husband Stephen of Taunton, his son Keith Gokey of Franklin, and his daughter-in-law Angela Gokey of Middleboro. He is also survived by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jean and James Melvin of Clearwater, Florida. He was the cherished grandfather of Kasi Taylor and her husband Derek, Kristi Souza, Stephen Souza III, Teaghan Gokey, Rowan Gokey and Declan Gokey. Paul also leaves a further legacy of 5 great grandchildren.



A Memorial service will be held on Friday May 27th at 11:00 am in the Davis Life Celebration Funeral Home 373 Court St. North Plymouth (Near Cordage Park). Cremation at Vine Hills Crematory. Memorial donations in his name may be made to the Middleboro Council On Aging 558 Plymouth St. Middleboro, MA 02346. Or the American Diabetes Association 40 Speen St. Framingham,MA. 01701.
