FAY, John Francis "Jack" Of Hanson, passed away on Wednesday morning, September 8, 2021, at the home that he loved and close by to his beloved wife of 56 years, Donna. Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and coach. Born in Quincy on May 2, 1942 to the late John F. and Katherine (Murray) Fay, Jack was raised near the ocean in Weymouth, the oldest of three children. From humble beginnings, Jack was a dedicated student, graduating from Wentworth Institute and Northeastern University. Professionally, Jack was a sales engineer in the fire protection industry. Jack was a quiet man with a fighting spirit whose life was devoted to the love and care of his family, especially his wife, Donna. Jack was an avid reader, lifelong learner, and lover of classical music and art. He instilled in his family a love of education, and steadfastly encouraged his children and grandchildren to pursue knowledge across science, business, religion and the humanities. A true sports enthusiast, Jack coached his three sons and a generation of hockey and baseball players in the town of Hanson. Later in life, Jack showcased that same enthusiasm for the bonding power of sports as a fan of his grandchildren's sporting activities, and he was a staple in the stands of adult hockey leagues throughout Massachusetts where his sons continue to play. Jack's defining character was his unwavering support and encouragement of his family in all their pursuits. Surviving Jack is his beloved wife, Donna (Belcher); his son, John and his wife Hannah, son, Michael and his wife Julie, and son, Steven; six grandchildren, Michael, Nathanael, Megan, Nicolas, Naomi and Nehemiah; his brother, William, his sister, Franceline and her husband Paul Haslett, his sister-in-law, Gloria Olsen, and many nieces and nephews, and their children.
