Comment: My wife Gerda and i have been blessed by my living the quiet and beautiful hills of SW Maine for 40 years and watching our children and grand children grow up into the wonderful people they have become.  We live in a small town of 1300 people near Lake Sebago and I still work at our company near Portland. We have spent most of our last 8 winters aboard our boat traveling to Bahamas where we typically stay until Spring. We hope to continue this as long as good health permits as we really enjoy the Bahamas and her lovely, gentle people.

Going into the Army shortly after graduation, and my subsequent work, took me away from the Weymouth on a more or less permanent basis. I soon lost contact with everbody I knew except a few close friends. The reunions and this web site are wonderful and very useful way to stay in touch with classmates. I believe that our class was exceptional, a truly outstanding group of people who made a positive difference in thei world.
Is there anyone you would like to hear from?: Anyone I knew at WHS
What have you been doing for the last 60 years?: I graduated WHS in 1960 to immediately enter the US Army and then travel to Europe where I met and married my wife of 52 years. I then worked for various firms which required relocation, ultimately we ended up in southwestern Maine where we have lived for the last 40 years. My two children (son & daughter) both live nearby as do my 2-grandsons. We love the small town life in Maine but now keep our boat in Florida and use it to travel to the Bahamas where we typically spend our winters. The out island Bahamian people are delightful and the scenery spectacular.

What have you been doing for the last 60 years?: Upon graduation from WHS I joined The Stop & Shop Companies, ultimately graduating from both their Perishable Operations and Store Management Training programs. Marrying classmate Donna Holden in June of 1964, we resided in Halifax, MA with out two sons, Eric and Douglas, until 1967 when we re-located to the metro New York market for business reasons. Returning to the Boston area in the early 70's, we moved to Duxbury, MA where we remained for the next 30 years. Upon our return, I entered the sales and marketing end of the food business, working for several New England based food brokers as an account executive and as a regional manager for several perishable food and beverage manufacturers. Retiring in 2006, I now work as a consultant to Lactalis USA, the U.S. operating division of Lactalis International, based in Laval, France.

As a veteran, I have served as an NCO with the U.S. Army Military Police Corps. and as an Infantry Line and Staff Officer after earning my commission.

While continuing to remain active as a player in semi-pro ice hockey in the Boston area thru 1996, I played for several high level teams and leagues, including the U.S. National team and stints as practice goaltender for visiting NHL teams in town for contests with the Boston Bruins. In later years, I was honored to be invited by NHL Hall of Fame member and ex-Bruin John Bucyk to play with the Boston Bruins Alumni hockey team from time to time in charity events across New England.

In 1996, I was diagnosed with lung cancer. After having my left lung removed, my surgeon recommended that I strengthen my remaining lung so I took up playing the trumpet again. Now, most of my spare time is spent playing with Big Band Jazz orchestras professionally in the Boston area as well as with community bands during the summer. Happily, Donna is able to join me playing her alto sax with some of the groups.

Donna is a retired Postmaster, having served in the Marshfield/Duxbury area for over 35 years. We are now enjoying our two grandchildren and our semi-retirement in our homes on the South River in Humarock, and summers at Great Herring Pond near the Cape Cod Canal in South Plymouth.
