2015-06-23Patricia Chalet Cairns of Hanover passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2015. The daughter of the late Nathan and Dora (DeRosa) Chalet, she was born in Boston, January 2, 1943. Patricia was raised in Weymouth and was a teacher and librarian in the Weymouth Public Schools. She was a graduate of Douglass College and received master's degrees from Northeastern University and Simmons College. She was a longtime member of the Puritan Bridge Club, where she reached the rank of Silver Life Master. She was an avid reader and loved to travel, including two years teaching in the Panama Canal Zone. She was known for her strength, determination, and sense of humor. Rita A. Cicchese of Medford, formerly of Weymouth, died May 22, 2014. Daughter of the late John and Alice (Hickey) Cicchese. Loving mother of David Lawrence of Arlington. Beloved sister of Mary Susi of Raynham, Frances Zeoli and her husband Antonio of Rockland and John Cicchese and his wife Betty Ann of Mendon. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Rita was a proud graduate of Weymouth High School and Bridgewater State College. For years, she was a teacher in the Weymouth Public School system as well as a department manager at Jordan Marsh Company. Although I don’t remember exactly when I first met Dave, it was probably during those early years at the Nevin Elementary School in South Weymouth. After high school, we pursued different career paths. Dave was a musician in military bands for a number of years.
Just after the 40th high school reunion, which neither of us attended, he contacted me via email. Dave was living in California then. While exchanging emails and talking by phone, I learned that he and I were cousins with a common point of ancestry several generations ago. Dave was also a distant cousin of one of my first violin teachers....

John K. Collins

John K. Collins, 68, of Duxbury, died June 12 in his home after a long illness. He was born in Quincy on Aug. 25, 1941, the son of the late John and Margaret (Barrett) Collins. He was raised and educated in Weymouth and was a graduate of Bentley College. He lived in Hanover several years and in Norwell for over 35 years before moving to Duxbury last year. He was the retired chief financial officer for W.G.L., the publisher of Bankers and Tradesmen. Mr. Collins was the past Commodore of the North River Yacht Club.

Collins and his wife Shauna of Easton, Michael D. Collins and his wife Roxanne of Union, Ky., and Patrick J. Collins and his wife Nichole, of Hebron, Conn. Paul was the brother of Robert L. Collins and his wife Cathy of Bridgton, Maine.
